In 2020, Mac retired from a 43-year career in the military, predominantly in training roles. Having taught First Aid in a Medical Reserve Unit for his last 15 years of service, he opted to qualify as a NUCO-certified First Aid Instructor.
Mac views the business as a service, as opposed to a profit-making business, aiming to provide low-cost training to individuals and groups. Course fees are designed to cover: student booklets, certificates, replacement of consumables (e.g. lungs for resuscitation mannequins, bandages etc), fuel costs, liability insurance and trainer’s 3-yearly re-certification.
